Program Details
The Associate in Arts Degree in Chicana/o Studies provides a critical approach towards understanding the historical and contemporary experiences of Mexicans, Chicanas/os, and Latinas/os living in the U.S. The interdisciplinary curriculum incorporates various disciplines such as the arts and literature, racial and ethnic studies, history, language, politics, music, cinema, and service learning. The Associate in Arts Degree in Chicana/o Studies empowers students to become leaders in their communities and the world by addressing diverse issues such as racism, cultural identity, cultural competency, education, immigration, feminism, reproductive rights, gender and sexuality, indigeneity, environmentalism, and social justice.
