Antiracism in Teaching
Certificate of Achievement
Program Details
The Certificate of Achievement (COA) in Antiracism in Teaching is designed to address the incredible need that exists within all care and education settings to best prepare teachers to address the needs of the children and families they serve. Goals for this COA are to help teachers create accepting, positive environments for children and families, to create developmentally appropriate expectations, to reduce a nationwide epidemic of preschool expulsion of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) children, to develop relationships with families that will empower them to advocate for their child over a lifetime, and to identify systemic racism and advocate for systemic changes. Students who complete this certificate of achievement will be prepared to create positive, accepting, and developmentally appropriate environments for all children in an early childhood education setting.
